Details We have developed a ‘Utilities’ application which includes:
  • Converting an SQL Script to either VB.NET or c# code (and vice versa) to save a lot of typing
  • Changing the DNS servers and IP settings of a PC, to stop the inconvenience when working on site
  • Building a business object from a database table (in Access or SQL Server in VB.NET or C#) to add, save and delete a record, because it takes hours to write them manually
  • Re-aligning a database after it’s been restored to a new SQL server, because it takes several scripts to do this – we also alter bespoke bits to align with our own network
  • Displaying pictures in sequence from a folder and all its subfolders
  • Renaming picture files by date and time taken (and various similar actions)
  • Deleting all folders called ‘bin’ and ‘obj’ from a development PC, as these cause build errors when working across multiple PCs with multiple programs sharing code projects
A web database, active server pages and a Web Installer, which
  • Provide product and download lists via webservices
  • Allow web enquiries and download requests
  • Save details of the above to the database using webservices
  • Generate and check licence numbers and download codes
  • Allow users to download permitted programs (and install them automatically)
  • Check that support invoices have been paid
We have also developed (over many years) our own transaction processing and bookkeeping system. We’ve kept our own accounts on it from 1996 to 2013, prior to finally changing over to use our own software linked to PS Financials.
