| Description | We developed an Excel file into which users enter details of the month being summarised, a full cash balance and details of each item of expenditure. On receipt at head office the entries are validated and if all correct then the remote office receives a petty cash top-up and the data is automatically posted to the Dream finance system. |

The system we developed was a stand-alone Excel file, which interacts with our Data Mining product in a couple of ways, but to the user is nothing more
than an Excel file with certain locked sections, which they can email around as it suits them. A head-office based administrator can use a Data Mining
utility program to open the ‘master’ petty cash file and update lists of cost codes, cost centres and so on, and save a new master for distribution to remote
cost centres. Users at remote cost centres enter their month-end cash position, attach receipts and send the file in the post to head office. An emailed copy
is also sent so that the data can be posted to the books without the need to key anything in. Once the files are received at head office a Data Mining utility
is used to extract the details and post all correct data to the organisation’s Dream accounting system. Other utilities which can be used at head office
