P-Ex Programs in MS Office

For well over 20 years we have been developing our P-Ex DataMining product. It started out as a couple of Excel VBA addins, then grew to a fully installable 'Interface' program with over 100 'Modules' from which users could pick and mix. One of the favourites was the Aged Debt report and Customer Statements module. The modules reported on our data, and allowed Admins to upload new master data.

In the last few years, this product has been moved from VBA to VSTO, and now uses our shared .Net codebase. It is now downloadable, and self-updating. The user now sees the menus and menu options the Admin decides they can use. There are now a lot of administrative and data import functions as well.

Bespoke Programs in MS Office

Over the years we have developed quite a few proigrams in MS Office for clients. Here are a few examples:

  • Letterhead Generator which allows users to generate letterheads across multiple entities, departments and locations.
  • Forward Profits Calculator which allows commodity traders to estimate profits before quoting a trade.
  • Petty Cash Return which allows branches to send details of petty cash spent back to HQ for posting to Dream.
  • Results Collector which let volunteers at athletics meetings record results, for import to the Results Processor.
  • Excel Poster: This posted invoices from P-2 to Dream for a client who had a problem running this process in any other software.
  • Labelling: The simplest application we ever did in Excel, this printed a label after you typed a product code into a cell and moved to a different cell.

We have taken other addin developments past the concept stage, but not to production. These have been for Excel, Word and Outlook.
