The P-Ex Mobile Stock App
A few years ago, we developed a Mobile Stock application, for the Windows Mobile platform. This was a program which connected directly to your database and to let storekeepers create:
- Stocktakes
- Stock transfers
- GRNs against POs raised in P-Ex or with no PO
- External stock issues (to clients)
- Internal stock issues (internal use or scrappage)
- Internal stock receipts (internal returns to store or miscellaneous returns from jobs)
The program was developed and supplied for Cipherlab handheld computers.
The program was in use for several years, but then we had two problems with it:
- the move to a newer version of the development platform stopped the database access working properly
- (rather more problematically) Microsoft dropped support for Windows Mobile
We have an on-going project to develop the application in Android for Datalogic devices, using webservices on your own server. The project was put on hold while we developed P-Ex DataMining.
