Our P-Ex Hospitality program, so named because the primary user is a hotel, has a long heritage. It started in a printing company, where it was used to let users without our main software create purchase requisitions, or stores requisitions for items required for scheduled maintenance jobs.
Another client (the hotel) decided they needed remote purchase requisitions, but also with the need to requisition things which were already in the main stores.
The Requisition Wizard program was built as an Excel VBA addin, and later the hotel wanted a dedicated version for their chefs. We developed this as a .Net Windows application, and this had the ability to hold its own price lists, which were updated monthly. The chefs could send orders directly to their suppliers as PDFs.
We recently re-wrote the original requisitioning tool in .Net, and made it into a VSTO addin for Excel.
